Pertronic Industries are a Lower Hutt-based electronics manufacturer – specialising in fire control systems they export all over the world.
Their products are set in smallish steel cabinets and they had been using 20mm polystyrene foam sheets as packaging around the cabinets, inside a cardboard box.
But due to polystyrene being a volatile (highly flammable) product – there were major issues with insuring the product when it sat in storage.
DoubleEco solved the issues by laminating our cardboard together, making it significantly stronger than polystyrene. We also built a much stronger and tighter outside box, lining the cabinets with our ‘three laminate’.
Pertronic went as far as conducting ‘drop tests’ using our packaging – (yes, where the packaged product is actually dropped onto the ground). The result showed a far superior strength advantage with the DoubleEco cardboard alternative.
